Reviews
I was somewhat disappointed with the purchase of this book. The title is very misleading, "step by step" lighting. There is good overall information in the book but it's more of a pose guide than a "how to" set up studio lighting guide. The book has good 'advice' but there are only 2 pages in the book (108 & 109) that ACTUALLY SHOW you the "how to" of setting up the lighting. The rest of the book is just pictures (very good pictures) of the models and a text explanation. It doesn't show you the where or how to put what lights where. It's more like, buy my book, I'll show you my great photos but I won't show you exactly how I did them. I can go to any photog in my area for that. "75 Portraits" from Herman Rodriguez is a much better "step by step" guide.
